Nutella Banana Bread


INGREDIENTS

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed

  • 1/2 cup salted butter, melted

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/3 cup sour cream

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 cups all purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 cup light brown sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 2/3 cup Nutella

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.

  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter with the mashed bananas until well combined. Mix in eggs, sour cream and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients - flour, baking soda, brown sugar and salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.

  3. Pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Warm Nutella in the microwave for 25 seconds. Dollop half the Nutella all over the batter and then run a knife through it to make swirls. Pour the remaining batter on top and repeat making swirls with the second half of Nutella. Bake for 60 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool 15 minutes before removing from pan and cutting.

*Notes:

  • The riper the banana, the better. It adds extra sweetness and moisture.

  • When dolloping the Nutella, try not to pile it in the center - it’ll add extra weight and cause your bread to sink in the middle.
